Set your goals to succeed in life

Have you ever answered this question – What is a successful life for you? Is it having a big house and fancy cars? Is it getting promoted at work or owning your own company? Or is it being able to spend quality time with your family?

The answer varies from person to person, that’s why it’s important that we set our goals in life. Smart goals helps you know which direction you should be heading. These also help you narrow down your priorities and use your time wisely. Also, smart goals helps you evaluate how far you’ve gone and know what other steps you need to take.

I came across this photo on Pinterest about 3 steps to write a 5-year plan. I was reminded of a similar exercise I did around 6 years ago, and it got me thinking – which goals have I achieved so far? I still don’t have my dream house but we now have our own business and I’m no longer working as an employee. Having these goals helped me decide which opportunities to take and put my 100% effort on.

Goal setting pages for your planner

With this in mind, I created these planner pages to help start the year right! I even added a 2018 calendar with spaces for goal setting every month. Check out all 40 plus pages and use them as your inspiration or print them out for your own use.

Write down your life goals

Paint a picture in your mind on how you want your life to look like when you grow old. Go beyond and dig deeper – why do I want this? Then, narrow them down to 2 or 3 per category.

Where should you be 5 years from now?

Break down your goal into smaller 5-year goals. It can help to draw a timeline with 5 year intervals and determine what is achievable in 5 years. Be realistic. This step will help you decide what steps you need to take within those 5 years.

Daily Goals

Success is not just about stuffing your wallet. It is the sum of what you achieved and who you have become. Write down things you need to do everyday to make sure that you end up living a well-balanced life.

Habits For Success

Lastly, write down instructions and daily habits that will help you reach your goals. Make sure that you take good care of your health and your relationships, so you can enjoy success in life.

I’ve only used the bullet journal system when I started blogging and it has helped me so much! This system helps me keep track of my tasks for blogging and for business and for life. This will be the first time I’m doing the entire system at the start of the year and I’m so excited!

The goal setting pages will help you keep your bullet journal focused on what’s important. Before you write down a task, think first if it will help you succeed or distract you. Now you might get too extreme and weed out the fun things in life. That’s why you should set goals for personal and relationships as well.

Those are some of the pages that I set up. You can add more pages for collections and lists by using the blank dotted pages.

And a bullet journal doesn’t have to to be colorful, but I added some flowers for more inspiration! Print out the cover page to make a pretty planner cover or divider.
